About the event
This event will run within regular class times for 5 weeks beginning Monday 26 April.
Each week, we will focus on one of the five elements; earth, water, fire, air, and space. This will create the theme for our yoga practice.
By creating a yoga practice that explores the five elements we can find balance and harmony within the body. Everything in nature is made up of five basic elements: earth, water, fire, air, and space. Knowledge of the elements forms the basis of Ayurveda, traditional Indian medicine. By working with the elements, we learn how to maintain good health and enjoy a long and fulfilling life based on higher awareness.
Each of the five elements has a relationship with the others. The five elements can only co-exist if in harmony and balance. A dominant expression of one element can deplete the expression of another element.
Each element is responsible for different structures within the body. When elements are out of balance illness and disease can occur. Water, Fire and Air elements can be used to purify and bring balance into the body. The Earth element creates grounding and stability, while the exploration of Space allows us to be open-minded, accepting of the truth and communicate freely.
Yoga is a powerful tool to help balance the five elements within our bodies and enable us to achieve great quality of life.
To participate in this series purchase a ticket to the workshop which includes a 5 class pass (one class per week for the series) at a special rate of $75 (saving of $15).
